Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas, TX - DTFC Holds DC Power

Dallas Trinity FC turned timely attacking opportunities and a resilient defensive performance into a 2–1 victory over DC Power FC, with Onyeka Gamero and Jasmine Hamid finding the back of the net and goalkeeper Neeku Purcell shutting the door when the pressure was at its highest.

The match opened as a defensive battle, with both sides making it difficult for the opposing

attack to find clean looks at goal. Dallas showed flashes of what was possible early, including a beautiful attacking sequence involving Jasmine Hamid that ended with the ball in the net, only for the goal to be called back.

The breakthrough finally came in the 41st minute.

Seven Castain took advantage of the DC goalkeeper playing well off her line, getting to the ball and redirecting it off the keeper almost like a pool shot. With the goalkeeper now caught away from the net, Onyeka Gamero came flying into the play and finished before the recovering DC defense could get into position.

The goal sent Trinity into halftime leading 1–0, but the first half suggested Dallas was capable of more. Trinity had defended extremely well while creating enough opportunities that the advantage could easily have been two goals.

Dallas found that second goal shortly after halftime.

In the 55th minute, Cyera Hintzen won the ball and delivered it across the field into space for the electric Hamid. From there, Hamid's speed took over.

She exploded into the breakaway, quickly worked her way through a defender, and once again caught the DC goalkeeper away from the safety of her goal. This time there was no call taking it off the board. Hamid calmly finished the opportunity to give Dallas a 2–0 advantage.

DC Power, however, refused to go away.

With a Trinity player dealing with a cramp and Dallas temporarily vulnerable, DC took advantage of the numbers. Alyssa Walker drove the ball into a dangerous area in the 66th minute, where it ultimately deflected off a Dallas player and into the net for an own goal, cutting Trinity's lead to 2–1.

From there, the match's complexion changed.

DC threw everything it could at Dallas in search of an equalizer, creating multiple dangerous

opportunities and forcing Trinity to defend under sustained pressure. But every time it appeared DC might finally break through, Neeku Purcell was there.

Purcell might as well have had eight hands.

The Trinity goalkeeper flew around the goal, repeatedly denying DC's best opportunities while trusting the defenders in front of her when necessary. Dallas bent under the late pressure, but it never broke.

When the final whistle sounded, the 2–1 score reflected a complete team victory. Gamero

provided the breakthrough, Hamid supplied the speed and skill for the eventual winner, Castain and Hintzen created the opportunities, and Purcell anchored a defense that refused to surrender the equalizer.

Dallas Trinity didn't simply score enough to win. When DC Power made its final push, Trinity

showed it could protect the result together and walked away rewarded for it
